Corona del Mar is part of the city of Newport Beach. The section of the city, Corona del Mar encompasses is all the land on the sea side of the San Joaquin Hills and south Avocado Avenue to the city limits. The only exception to this is the Irvine Terrace development, with is north of Avocado, but still part of Corona del Mar. Corona del Mar is known as CDM locally and is also Spanish for “Crown of the Sea.” The Corona del Mar area is known for its sandy beaches, tide pools and cliff side views. There are many shops and restaurants in the area for residents to partake in. This seaside town is fifty miles south Los Angeles, just five miles from John Wayne Airport and seventy miles from San Diego.
