The 61st Annual Newport Beach Sandcastle Contest will be taking place on Sunday, October 1st. This year’s theme is “It’s A Zoo Out There!” This year’s sand sculptures will celebrate all things animal. The building starts at 10am and continues until 4:30pm. The contest is open to everyone, from first time builders to the professionals. In addition, the sandcastle building there will be music, food, and kid’s activities. The contest is hosted by the Commodores Club of Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce. The sandcastle contest takes place at the Corona del Mar State Beach.
